IUE receives ‘Institutional Accreditation’ from THEQC

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has been awarded the 'institutional accreditation' by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC). Having successfully passed the examination in many fields such as education, research and development, social contribution, leadership, and management system, IUE became one of the few universities to be accredited for 2 years. Izmir University of Economics, one of Turkey's most important higher education institutions with its 10 thousand students, 900 academics and 22 thousand graduates, has added a new one to its achievements.
IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu stated that they will continue to take steps to increase the quality of education with determination. Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu said, “This accreditation is an indication that we are one of the most respected higher education institutions in our country with the technological opportunities, education approach and academic staff we offer. I would like to thank all the valuable members of the University who contributed greatly to the formation of this achievement.”
SUCCESSFUL STRATEGIC STEPS
Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu continued as follows: “THEQC implements the ‘Institutional Accreditation Program’ in order to increase the quality of higher education institutions. Accredited institutions are determined as a result of a meticulous evaluation that takes months. This accreditation we have received has been a reward for the determined efforts, successful strategic steps and the right technological investments that we have been continuing for a long time as a university. Of course, this accreditation is not a destination for us. As a university, we will continue to strengthen research and development studies, produce projects, and conduct studies that will lead the society. We will continue to raise well-equipped, self-confident young people who focus on production and innovation, who see contributing to society and science as a fundamental priority, which our country needs.”
