OUR EFFORTS WILL CONTINUE FOR STUDENTS
Stating that he believes that young graduates will achieve significant success in a short time and that they will always be by their side, President Özgener said, “We tried to ensure that you receive a good education as graduates of Izmir University of Economics. We will continue to make a special effort to help you overcome the difficulties in the early stages of your professional life. I see our university as a nest of hope and trust. We are working together to ensure that you reinforce your hope and excitement and reveal your potentials in the best way possible. We left behind another successful year as a corporate. However, the individual achievements that stand out in this corporate development are much more important. Both our students and alumni have achieved great accomplishments in many fields from sports to art, from science to technology. We know that all of you will achieve similar success in certain periods of your careers. We will always support you to help you realize your projects and reach your goals.”
YOUR EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY WILL NEVER END
President Özgener continued his words as follows: “No matter how strong our vision and related projects are, most of the work is now up to you. Your perspective on life and your future is of great importance not only for your personal business life, but also for the economy and social development of the country. Your education life does not end here. Your professors shared their knowledge and experience with you. However, learning is a lifelong process. In order to improve yourself at every stage of your life, you must continue your education. You must realize that your educational journey will never end. No matter how well-educated you are here, this knowledge will help you for 5-10 years in a rapidly transforming world. Your curiosity for your long-term goals and your hunger for knowledge will guide you no matter how old you are.”
HERALD OF BEAUTIFUL BEGINNINGS
Expressing that they are very happy and proud, Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar said, “Our students graduate as competent, distinguished and competent in their fields. Graduations are herald of good beginnings. Your families have delivered us good students with strong characters, hardworking, successfully passing tough exams. We tried to teach them to research patiently, to question and try without getting tired, to understand life with the mind and to test it with science. We trust each of our graduates very much. Today, we have graduates who have accomplished great things in many countries. We have an uninterrupted communication with them. I can proudly say that approximately 3,500 of our 20,000 graduates have started their own businesses. Young people graduating today will achieve significant success in the next period and will make a career in the most prestigious companies of the world, establish their own businesses, and manage every business they undertake with intelligence and knowledge.”
BOTH HOME AND JOURNEY
University top student Aslı Melike Soylu thanked everyone who supported her and sdaid, “University years are an important turning point in human life and university is much more than an institution where professional knowledge is acquired. University is both a home and a journey for us. It is the home of universal knowledge, free thought and tolerance, a family where lasting friendships are established and unforgettable memories and experiences are gained. At the same time, it is the most important step we have taken towards our goal of becoming adults who can fly with their own wings and are not afraid to use their own minds. I would like to express my gratitude to Izmir University of Economics for being a warm home for us during this difficult process. In the past four years, we also learned a lot, became aware, sometimes we had fun, sometimes we were very tired. There were days when we all had difficulties, especially with the pandemic period, but we were lucky to be a group that could return to campus before graduating. We are also grateful to our school and academics, who have mobilized all their opportunities and continued the courses without any problems during our stay away from the campus. I congratulate all my fellow graduates who received their diplomas. I wish them all the best in their professional life.”
