CELTA training program for English language teachers at Izmir University of Economics
The Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA), offered by Cambridge University Teaching Awards, is the most widely recognized initial qualification in English language teaching. Globally, three out of four English language teaching jobs require a CELTA qualification. The course is designed for potential teachers with little or no classroom experience and is therefore considered an entry level qualification in English language teaching but is also available to experienced teachers who wish to refresh their knowledge.
The CELTA Centre at Izmir University of Economics School of Foreign Languages was established in 2004 as the first of three university-based centres and one of only eight centres in Turkey in total. The centre has delivered over twenty full-time and part-time courses and trained more than 350 candidates, whilst providing the opportunity for around one thousand students to receive free tuition as volunteer students in teaching practice lessons. Now, Izmir University of Economics CELTA centre is offering a 10-week part-time fully online course from 27 February to 7 May 2021. The course requires attendance on two evenings a week and ten Saturdays, providing a convenient option for those with weekday commitments. Whether you are new to teaching, looking to refresh your skills, or seeking an international qualification, CELTA is the course for you.
