“A” quality university
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) qualified for “A” title in the satisfaction survey conducted among 39 thousand 386 students studying at 192 universities across the nation. In the study conducted by the Turkish University Assessment & Research Laboratory (UNIAR), IUE ranked 10th among foundation universities and ranked 19th among state universities across Turkey.
Turkey’s University Satisfaction Survey (TUMA) 2020 aimed to rank universities according to the level of satisfaction of students. In addition to the general evaluation, IUE was shown as one of the universities that meet the expectations of the students at a high level in a research conducted on 6 different categories. Izmir University of Economics ranked “A plus” in the category of “Satisfaction with Learning Experience”; and ranked “A” in the categories of “Satisfaction with Campus Life”, “Academic Support and Interest”, “Satisfaction with the Institution’s Management and Operation”, “Learning Opportunities and Richness of Resources”, “Personal Development and Career Support”.
WE ARE THE FIRST IN THE AEGEAN
IUE Rector Prof. Murat Aşkar reported that the University was preffred by 29 thousand 161 students in 2018 and 32 thousand 252 students in 2019, and ranked 10th in the most preferred foundation universities ranking in Turkey and that they were in the first position in the Aegean Region.
Indicating that the University is one of the best universities in Turkey that offers distance education, Prof. Aşkar said, “Pandemic period directly affected education as well. Universities, which invested in their technological infrastructure and developed themselves in line with the requirements of the age, also came to the fore in the distance education period. We are the only university in Turkey that uses educational technologies that cover Blackboard Learn, Blackboard Collaborate Learning Management System and Panopto Course Registration and Monitoring System at the same time. Uzaktan eğitimde, gururla söylüyorum ki farkımızı ortaya koyduk. I proudly say that we stood out as a university in distance education. Before the pandemic, we have already renewed our university in line with the demands of our students. We offered many opportunities such as guaranteed internship and uninterrupted scholarship to our students. The research results also showed us that we have taken the right steps.”
CAMPUS WITH 8 LANGUAGES
Prof. Aşkar stated the following: “We are one of the few universities that raise human resources worldwide with our campus in which 8 languages are spoken and our academic staff, all of whom have international experience. As Izmir University of Economics, we have made all our technological moves and planning for the next 50 years accordingly, we have created our academic staff based on that. We will continue to work to raise young people who are equipped with our innovative vision, and to add value to our country.”
