NEW SOCIAL NETWORK BY STUDENTS

Students meet at the social network they developed. Students of Department of Software Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) developed a mobile application called, “Stucial”, where they aim to make their lives more entertaining, get more social, and help and support each other with education.
Furkan Kavlak, Hatice Ertuğrul, Simge Güçlükol, and Simge Özcan, seniors from IUE Department of Software Engineering, created a social platform to bring students together under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Senem Kumova Metin of IUE Department of Software Engineering.
Furkan Kavlak reported that the application was available at Apple Store and Google Play or app.stucial.com to download. Kavlak said, “Starting from Izmir and surroundings, we plan to include universities worldwide into the system in time. This application will allow students to access course schedules easily. They will be able to share their schedules with their friends so that they can see their break times to spend time together.”
Kavlak also stated that students would be in a chat group with other students taking the same courses, and be able to share course notes with each other. Additionally, they would be able to keep up with the school announcements. Kavlak indicated that privacy settings enabled students to hide their course schedules and share it with friends only. Kavlak said that students would be able to write comments and evaluations about the courses as well.
