FOCI (Forum on Curricular Issues)
Hosted by the Curriculum and Material Development Unit of the School of Foreign Languages IUE Preparatory Programme, Forum on Curricular Issues (FOCI) VIII took place at İzmir University of Economics on the 12th and 13th of December. The theme of FOCI VIII was “The Quest for Ideal Coursebook.” The event proved to be a great success with 32 curriculum team members representing 24 universities.
The participants worked in five different focus groups and discussed the best possible ways of evaluating, analysing and selecting coursebooks as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the materials available on the market, and gave suggestions on how to tailor them to the needs of the learners for their academic studies.

Aiming to be the leader in English Language Teaching, İzmir University of Economics will continue hosting such events.
