The Third Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Education Was Held
İzmir University of Economics continues its efforts to support the effective and pedagogically meaningful use of artificial intelligence tools in teaching and learning processes. In this context, the third Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Education, organized under the leadership of the İzmir University of Economics Teaching and Learning Center (EKOEĞİTİM–TLC), was successfully held on June 26, 2026.
The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching Was Discussed
The workshop began with the opening speech delivered by Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Filiz Başkan. Afterwards, EKOEĞİTİM–TLC Director Asst. Prof. Dr. Esin Çağlayan provided information about the aim and scope of the workshop and shared current approaches to artificial intelligence applications in higher education with the participants. Throughout the event, the use of artificial intelligence tools in the contexts of instructional design, learning processes, and classroom practices was addressed through examples.
Practice-Oriented Workshops Were Held
As part of the program, Res. Asst. Dr. Yasemin Albayrak Kutlay, Visual Communication Technologies Specialist Cem İpek, Lecturer Haldun Kaya, and Lecturer Gülce Yüksel shared their knowledge and experience with participants regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools in teaching and learning processes. During the workshops, practical examples using various generative artificial intelligence tools were presented, and the integration of these technologies into different course contexts was discussed.
Contributing to AI-Supported Learning Design
The workshop offered participants the opportunity to evaluate artificial intelligence tools from a pedagogical perspective, examine different use scenarios, and gain experience through examples of good practice. This event series, carried out by EKOEĞİTİM–TLC, aims to continue contributing to AI-supported learning design, teaching processes, and assessment and evaluation approaches in higher education.
