Place : Ayzeradant Galeri
Explanation :
Nature has been an inspiring resource for humanity, providing both inspiration and meeting our needs. Sustainable approaches in natural printing and dyeing methods are essential components of the concept of ethical fashion. Synthetic textile dyes have met the commercial expectations of the textile industry for many years due to their ease of use, but today, they have become central to a significant ecological problem due to the toxic substances they contain. That’s why, the main objectives of this project are to develop alternative natural methods for the use of toxic substances in textile dyes, which cause the most harm to ecology in the fashion industry, and to rediscover the culture of natural dyeing substances, thereby creating awareness in this field.
This exhibition shows outputs created through natural dyeing, ecological printing, and biomaterial production techniques using environmentally friendly dyeing substances derived from plants cultivated as alternatives to synthetic dyes. Each product presented here aims to question the destructive effects of human-centered design activities by establishing a more meaningful and sensitive connection with the ecosystem and to share pioneering practices of a more regenerative, reparative, and environmentally conscious approach with the audience. The exhibition also features products focusing on natural dyeing and biomaterial production, including the rich local flora of the Aegean Region and ancient dyeing traditions born from these lands.
The discovery of sustainable materials offered by nature in this exhibition also emphasizes methods to reduce the environmental impacts of modern living. The showcased products also present the creative and sustainable potential of natural resources in terms of color diversity.
