SECOND CONSTITUTIONALIST PERIOD SYMPOSIUM STARTED
İzmir University of Economics Vice-Rector Prof Dr. Cemali Dinçer made a speech in the symposium and said “Second Constitutionalist Period is one of the most important periods of our late history. I suppose the basic reason of this is that it accelerated the former social upheaval and modernizing efforts and seriously affected our lives today. I believe we will be able to see all these more clearly in this symposium.”
IUE Board of Trustees President Ekrem Demirtaş said “Both as the Chamber of Commerce and IUE, we care about analyzing the occasions in the past and plan the future. I believe this turning point that affected all parts of our lives should be evaluated with this viewpoint. One week later we will see the different dimension with “1st International Symposium of Past and Future of Mediterranean Trade and Port”. I thank to everyone that contributed to the preparation of this symposium.”
Foundation of History President Prof. Dr. Murat Güvenç said that the symposium was organized with a wide perspective and said “A friend of mine said that the name of the symposium was like an equation. Yes, the reason for this is to look at Second Constitutionalist Period in 100-year process with every aspect, without directing it. We did not restrict it to one area”
In three days, native and foreign 23 scientists will examine Second Constitutionalist Period’s interaction that nothing was as it was used to be after its declaration. “Yadigar-I Hürriyet” exhibition can be visited until September 23, 2008 in which Constitutionalist Postal Cards can be seen from Orlando Carlo Calumeno Collection.
