IUE FRENCH DEPARTMENT GOES TO 4TH INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL
Izmir University of Economics School of Foreign Languages French Department started to prepare a play with the students that selected French as a second foreign language. The text of the play entitled “I have a Problem” is prepared by the French language instructors. Later on, 10 students that began the rehearsals sent a presentation file about the play to the selective committee of the “4th International Theatre Festival” organized by Arras University in North of France. The students whose play is very much liked by the French authorities received an invitation to attend the festival. The students are counting down for the festival now.
The students that carry on the rehearsals under the leadership of French language instructor Sedef Ahuoğlu will attend to an international festival by using their French that they have started to learn in Izmir University of Economics. Ahuoğlu gave some information about the play and said, “In the play, we emphasized that in fact we create our problems and the solution is only in ourselves. It is a big responsibility to stage this play abroad and in a country that give great importance to its language. However, we are sure that we will carry this out successfully. “
Ahuoğlu also said that the theatre festival was very important for the Turkish students to show themselves and to present Turkey and Izmir abroad. 4th International Theatre Festival will take place from March 25 to 30 in Arras University in the North of France.
