BOTH PROJECT AND HR SUMMIT

The youth is pushing the limits of their creativity as they are killing two birds with one stone. Izmir University of Economics Human Resources Club and Industrial Engineering Club joined hands. An interactive event was organized where students had a chance to present their projects and resumes to human resources staff, and entered job interviews of companies at Izmir and surroundings.
Izmir University of Economics, Department of Industrial Engineering and Industrial Systems Community organized their first project fair together. Senior students presented projects to company representatives that they prepared for companies. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arslan Örnek, Head of Department of Industrial Engineering, said, “This organization intended to introduce the projects prepared by the department to companies at Izmir and its surroundings, and increase the ties with the industry. I would like to express my gratitude to clubs for turning this scientific organization into a festival.”
In the session prepared by Human Resources Club, Hugo Boss made a presentation of their company, especially their hiring process. They also conducted job interviews with reference to resume screening they performed previously. The second guest company was Unilever. Students showed great interest to their presentation. Hande Ödev, Chairwoman of Human Resources, stated that they would continue with such organizations at Izmir University of Economics and she said, “Our purpose was to enlighten students about making their career choices more consciously and make them have a better understanding of the leading names of the sector.”
Representatives from Bosch, CMS Jant ve Makine Sanayi A.Ş., Coca-Cola, Delphi, Dokuz Eylül University Hospital, Egeria, ESHOT, İnci Akü, Kansai Altan Boya Sanayi A.Ş., Philip Morris, Renkler Makina Yedek Parça, Türk Tuborg, TAV, JTI Türkiye, Akzo Nobel, Unilever, DYO, BİMAR, Hugo Boss, Tesco Kipa, and IAS came together with students.
Senior students presented their projects via posters as part of the organization where the best three posters were selected at the end of the day. The Bosch Project team (Melda Aytekin, İlayda Kurtuluş, Sevim Seferoğlu, Gözde Akdeniz, and Nihat Aydın) came in first place with their poster on analysis and optimization of complex production planning process. Philip Morris team (Yeşim Deniz Özkan, Ece Akbil, Aytunç Serdal, and Gizem Halil) came in second place with their poster on plain production techniques applications. Kansai Altan team (Keremcan Coşar, Adil Oğuz and Ceren Bayat) came in third place with their poster on warehouse allocation optimization.
