CARETTA INSPIRATION IN JEWELRY DESIGN
In the summer school with the concept of “Karia Grand Peaks and the Country of Tufted Helmet” that lasted for one week in Dalyan IUE Fashion Design 2nd Grade student Melike Akgüneş attracted the attention of the professionals with her design entitled “İz Tuzu”. N. Melike Akgüneş stated that making a design in a different field breathed new life into her design concept and told her adventure.
She said, “İz Tuzu is the place where the carettas reproduce. I am very much impressed by this place. There are signs from ‘İz Tuzu’ in my design. I designed a jewelry-hanger that is for carrying both the dress and the fabric. It was a very different experience for me. I had a chance to work in a very different field. It is good to see that I am creative in this field.”
The young design student, who stated that when she heard her name in top three she was very surprised and happy, and she also said that her designs would be produced by the company, exhibited by a fashion show and in the universities.
Akgüneş stated that 21 universities attended the summer school and four of them were from Russia, she said, “The disciplined studies of Russian students made this summer school serious. We first went to environment trips in Dalyan. Later on we listened to the presentations of the academicians and Goldaş designers. We prepared and submitted our designs in last three days.”
