IUE REMAINS AT THE TOP AGAIN IN THE TENTH YEAR
In the tenth anniversary of its establishment, Izmir University of Economics reached its goals and achieved a great success. 1,333 students preferred Izmir University of Economics, which is one of the leading foundation universities in Turkey with its education quality and innovations brought to higher education.
The President of the Board of Trustees, Ekrem Demirtaş, stated that Izmir University of Economics reached its goals in this year like every year and Vocational School, to which they attribute great importance, reached the occupancy rate of 87 % for the first time. He emphasized that this development is very pleasing for Vocational School and it will cause a great transformation in education. He also said that “We always emphasize the importance of Vocational School in education system and it reached the occupancy rate of 87 % for the first time in this year. Students, who want to enter upon business life earlier, chose Vocational School. It is a very pleasing development for education system. As Izmir University of Economics, we will give much importance on Vocational School and we diversify departments.”
President Demirtaş underlines that Izmir University of Economics is the first foundation university in Aegean Region whose education is in English and it makes a difference with its second foreign language option. He also said that “The education is given in English in all departments. Moreover, in their four-year education, students will learn a second foreign language among 10 foreign language options. It makes a great difference in their career and it is one of the most important factors for students to prefer Izmir University of Economics. We extend our gratitude to our students and their families for choosing us in order to manage the future. “
In order to increase the quality of education, Izmir University of Economics increased the number of scholarship student. 477 student gained scholarship in new academic year. Departments of International Trade and Finance, Psychology, Sociology, Logistics Management, Fashion Design, Public Relations and Advertising, Media and Communication, Interior Architecture and Environment Design, Architecture, Industrial Systems Engineering, and Foreign Trade and Logistics International Associate Programs reached the occupancy rate of 100 %. Department of Translation and Interpreting, Business Administration, International Relations and the EU, Industrial Design and Visual Communication Design also reached the occupancy rate of nearly 100 % and became the most preferred departments.
Students are accepted with aptitude test in the Department of Culinary Arts and Management. It is expected to reach the occupancy rate of 100 % after pre-registrations until 25th of August. By completing pre-registration, students, who want to be a chef and manager in world cuisines, will have a right to enter written exam on 5th of September and oral exam on 7th of September.
