THE SCOPE OF OUR WORK WILL EXPAND
Lecturer Ezgi Oral Bozkurtoğlu, Director of IUE Children’s University Research and Application Center, reminded that they are one of the 60 universities that are members of the European Children's Universities Network (EUCUNET). Stating that they carry out national and international activities in many fields from art to engineering, from sports to education, Bozkurtoğlu said, “We take care of children's needs and carry out work to contribute to them being happier, healthier and accessing equal opportunities with their peers. In the coming period, we will expand the scope of our work by organizing activities that support and center around the disadvantaged children and youth.”
APRIL 11 CELEBRATION
Noting that they organized a special exhibition of children's artworks before the April 23 Children's Festival, Bozkurtoğlu stated, “EUCUNET determined April 11 as the ‘International Day of Children's Universities’ to make the work for children visible, to carry out joint projects and to increase the visibility of children's universities. This year, for the first time, we presented many art-themed works created by children to many visitors in the exhibition we opened within the scope of International Day of Children's Universities. Starting next year, in addition to the traditional April 23rd Children's Festival, we will organize special events for children every April 11 that will contribute to their personal development. We will send a good message from Izmir to the whole world to raise awareness on this issue.”
