'Career' opportunities for students
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School signed a cooperation protocol with 3 companies in order to improve students' education, internship and job opportunities. Agreements with Kuika, one of the software development platforms, Hidden Bay Teos from the tourism industry, and Konfor Mobilya (furniture store), one of the well-known brands, will create new opportunities for young people at IUE in their career journeys.
Thanks to the collaborations with brands from different sectors, approximately 300 students will have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in the courses in the field. Young people from IUE, who will meet the experienced names in their fields and establish a business network, will develop themselves in different fields. IUE students will also be given priority in internship. Young people, who will have the opportunity to show their skills and knowledge by establishing close relations with the business world before they graduate, will lay the foundation of their career goals before their peers. Senior executives of Kuika, Hidden Bay Teos, and Konfor Mobilya, will be guests of the lectures and participate in activities such as talks and panels to be held at the University.
WE PAVE THE WAY FOR OUR STUDENTS
IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar stated that they pave the way for their students by implementing the university-city integration effectively and correctly. Prof. Dr. Aşkar said, “We trust each of our students studying at the University, and we take steps to ensure that they look to the future with confidence. Universities should have goals, universities should develop cooperation with companies from different sectors. Universities should create partnerships that will enable their students to stay ahead outside the campus also and open new opportunities for them. As Izmir University of Economics, our vision covers exactly this. The collaborations of IUE Vocational School have been steps that add strength to the strength of the University and fully overlap with our vision and future plans. I believe that our students will make the most of these collaborations.”
WILL LAY THE FOUNDATION OF NEW ACHIEVEMENTS
Burçin Önder, Director of IUE Vocational School, stated that new collaborations will continue in the upcoming period. Expressing that they have taken exemplary steps for Turkey as a Vocational School, Önder said, “We have developed the opportunities we offer to our students by collaborating with 3 very valuable brands, which are known in our country, have implemented many firsts in their own sectors. Every collaboration we have made so far has touched the lives of students. We had students who found a job while they were still studying, took a position in the company where they went as an intern, and drew a completely different path for themselves with the connections they made there. I believe that the 3 protocols we signed will lay the foundation for new achievements. Our students will be individuals who meet the qualified workforce needs demanded by the business world. I would like to thank Kuika, Hidden Bay Teos and Konfor Mobilya for their support.”
