'Erasmus' winner among 42 universities
Izmir University of Economics (IUE), which hosted approximately 80 Erasmus students from 13 different countries last year, also made a difference with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Club established within its body. The club, formed by IUE student volunteers in order to facilitate the integration process of the guest students coming for the first time to our country and Izmir, to help them get to know the city and improve the communication with Turkish students, was chosen the "best branch" in the assessment made among 42 universities in Turkey. ESN IUE ranked in first place in the "promotion practice" field, second place in the "website" category, and third place in the "visual production" field as a result of the assessment conducted by the Erasmus Student Network Turkey National Assembly.
Club President Buse Pek said that they stand out with their work throughout the year and that they will continue to develop different projects in the upcoming period.
IT MADE US HAPPY AND MOTIVATED
Pek said, “We represented our university with University’s 'Erasmus Student Network' student club this year at the Erasmus Student Network Turkey National Assembly that took place with the participation of students from around the country. We made a difference with the works we did together with our friends both before and during the pandemic last year. We drew attention with the works we did on social media, the designs we created, the method of promoting ourselves and the effective and correct communication we established with the students coming to our country from abroad. As a result, we were selected the 'best branch' by the Erasmus Student Network Turkey National Assembly. It was a result that made us very happy and motivated us for the work we will do in the upcoming period.”
WE STRIVE TO DO THE BEST
Pek continued as follows: “We are confident in ourselves and we strive to do the best work. Our university also provides us with the necessary facilities. We constantly communicate with academics and fellow students and exchange ideas about what kind of work we can do. We are rewarded for our self-denying work. I congratulate my friends Aslıhan Doyuran, Yiğitcan Alabaş, Ece Yükselen, Batuhan Üzümcü, Damla Yıldırım, Furkan Eke, Sami Doğan, Mert Kartal, who were a voluntary part of the Erasmus Student Network in the 2019-2020 Academic Year and brought these awards to our university with their projects and all ESN members.”
