Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information for Erasmus+ Incoming Students
Dear IUE International Exchange Students,
In the context of the current outbreak of the new Coronavirus COVID-19, Higher Education Council of Turkey suspended face-to-face education at Turkish universities for 3 weeks as of March 16,2020.
Since the first cases of infection brought to our knowledge, the University has adopted a preventive attitude and is frequently providing updated information with all university members regarding recommendations issued by the Turkish authorities.
IUE started distance education on March 23,2020. Currently, distance education is provided for theoretical parts of the courses. If any of the courses require practical training/education, those practical sessions will be delivered through the end of the semester in a compacted program.
We do not suggest our exchange students to travel. If you are planning to go back to your country, please note that your courses/exams might require physical attendance on campus and you might need to come back to Turkey. Since it is not certain yet when the borders will be open/flights will be active again, we suggest our students to stay in Turkey and follow distance education at IUE.
Please consider all issues while making your decision about your exchange mobility.
IUE Office of International Affairs is ready to provide remote support for our students.
You can easily contact us via oia@ieu.edu.tr
We will be keeping posted all our partners about the updates.
Best regards
Izmir University of Economics
