EVERY CHILD HAS A RIGHT TO DREAM!
The students of the Faculty of Communication at Izmir University of Economics encourage refugee children to open the doors of their imagination. The social responsibility project “See as A Child” aiming to combat negative speech against refugee children will deliver books to refugee children gathered from all parts of Turkey.
Expressing oneself well is very important for a human. Especially it is hard for people when they are not familiar with the culture and language. By collecting books for refugee children who had to migrate from their countries, students aim to contribute to adapt children to the culture and language and improve thelmseves.
Maybe a doctor, a pilot, or even a job that has not been discovered by any one yet. Sometimes an adventurer who wants to travel the world in eighty days or sometimes a brave knight to rescue the princess from a dragon. A dreaming child is as natural as a flying bird or flowing water. That’s why, our students who believe that children need to see the world in colors, are trying to enrich the imaginary world of them.
Elif Tanınmış, one of the students who is involved the project said “ Imagination is the strongest muscle of children. They can build a future, that are full of hope and bright with that muscle, but an unused muscle gets weaker over time. If we have any chances to help them to develop this muscle, we must use this chance. In that way, they can change many things in their life and they can see life better.”
