Experienced experts are supporting prospective students to make the right education choices at Izmir University of Economics. The expert guidance counselors, in addition to 60 students and all academic units, are providing guidance services to the prospective university students at IUE Conference Hall at 14 guidance and information tables. Students will be informed about their dream occupations as part of the “Izmir University of Economics Prospective Student Counseling Days” event which will go on until July 26, 2017.
Ekrem Demirtaş, President of IUE Board of Trustees, stated that the University provided counseling services for prospective students and their parents to help them make the right choices, and that expert guidance counselors and student volunteers shared information with prospective students. President Demirtaş said, “We, as Izmir Chamber of Commerce Education and Health Foundation, set out to find a solution to lack of qualified manpower in 2001. We established our university which teaches a second foreign language in addition to English, and trains innovative and entrepreneurial students with the support of the Chamber. We sent 12 thousand 102 students off to the business world so far. We continuously upgrade our education system and quality to meet the changing conditions. We offer new departments and faculties in the fields that are demanded by the business world and by our country. We adopted an education system that focuses on health, science, and technology”.
‘Knowledge accumulation creates a difference’
President Demirtaş stated that the University offered education in 35 undergraduate, 32 associate, and 37 graduate programs within 8 faculties. He said that they expected to see the prospective students, who would like to make a difference in their future with accumulation of knowledge at Izmir University of Economics.
