IUE DESIGNERS SHARED THEIR DISCOVERIES
The fashion show titled, “Keşif (Discovery)”, prepared by the students of IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Fashion and Textile Design, took place at the Agora Shopping Mall. 10 senior students of IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design displayed their designs skills at the 2013 – 2014 academic year fall fashion show that attracted great deal of attention. The models, who presented the designs, were also the students of Izmir University of Economics.
The students co-organized the show “Keşif” with Asst. Prof. Dr. Arzu Vuruşkan, Vice Dean of IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design and designer Selin Dartar under the coordination of Jörn Fröhlich, IUE lecturer and professional costume designer, and presented their own styles. The designs of the future stylists were reflected in the catalogue through the lenses of fashion photographer Christoph Herpel.
Prof. Dr. Ender Bulgun, Dean of IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, talked about the exhibition. Bulgun said, “Our students followed the social, economic, ecological, and technical developments as part of the ‘Keşif’ project. They observed the effects of these concepts on people, and came up with these creative designs.”
Prof. Dr. Elvan Özkavruk Adanır, Head of IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design, on the other hand, mentioned that the students got involved in experimental studies before they prepared their graduation projects.
Aleksandra Machnika, Aslı Opsar, Ece Bultan, Gözde Malgır, Gözde Tüfekçi, Hande Çil, İdil Şansal, Neslihan Biri, Şeyma Aslın, and Tülin Gülhan were the brilliant minds behind the fashion show that got many applauds.
