THE SANTEZ PROJECT NAMED SOLAR PLANT INVESTMENT OPTIMIZATION AND PROJECT TOOLKIT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
Within the project two solar test plants have been built in Ankara and İzmir. 12 different solar panel from 9 companies have been tested and their energy production characteristics have been measured under different whether conditions. Local meteorological stations built near the solar test plants provided detailed and long term whether condition data measurements.
Previously, a very detailed map had been developed by the company Teknologis Ltd. within another SANTEZ project. This new project added the performance of the solar panels to the previous study and energy prediction models have been developed using neural network approach. Specially the different performance of different solar panels under cloudy whether conditions appear as an important parameter to effect the paybacks of the investment loans.
Mansur Alp Toçoğlu has completed his master degree thesis “Intelligent Solar Energy Toolkit” under the Intelligent Engineering Systems M. Sc. Program of İzmir University of Economics by the support provided within the project.
