Joining forces for entrepreneurs
The consortium named ‘BIGG.ASSIST’, formed by the cooperation of Izmir University of Economics, Vestel Elektronik and Teknopark Izmir, was selected as an ‘implementing organization’ by TUBITAK to manage the training and support process for entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs, who want to take advantage of the grant opportunity provided by TUBITAK within the scope of the Entrepreneurship Support Program (BIGG), will be able to get support from ‘BIGG.ASSIST’ in all matters related to their business ideas, and will complete the application process to TUBITAK with the guidance of experts. Entrepreneurs, who will be able to consult on many issues including R&D activities and market targets, will increase their chances of being accepted by TUBITAK and have the opportunity to establish the business they want.
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) selected the implementing organizations that will work between the years of 2023 - 2025 as a result of a thorough examination. Many criteria such as innovation capacity, vision, and experience in entrepreneurship, facilities, technological and physical infrastructure, and office and equipment adequacy of the consortium formed were taken into consideration.

WE MUST BRING OUT CREATIVITY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Stating that as a university, they are ready to take part in any project that will support the development of products and services with high added value, IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar said, “Universities should emphasize creativity and entrepreneurship within the framework of law and socio-economic norms, being sensitive to human health and the environment, and they should support the work to be done in this field. We act with these thoughts in our educational studies and form the curriculum and academic staff with this awareness. While doing all these, we also realize projects and collaborations that will set an example for university-society integration. We want to support not only the young people at our university, but also all young people with innovation and technology-oriented projects, everyone. The ‘BIGG.ASSIST’ program that we will run together with Vestel Elektronik and Teknopark Izmir is a very good example of this.”
