TUBITAK Research Project Preparation Training in Social Sciences
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Business and IUE Project Development and Technology Transfer Office co-organized the “TUBITAK Research Project Preparation Training in Social Sciences” for scientists. The event, coordinated by Prof. Şükrü Özen, Lecturer at IUE Faculty of Business, was supported by TUBITAK’s Directorate of Science Fellowships and Grant Programs (BIDEB) 2237-B Project Training Support Program.
Total of 57 academics and Ph.D. students from 30 universities in all regions of Turkey attended the online event in which the training was conducted in two parallel sessions. Giving information about the training sessions, Prof. Özen said, “Information and experiences were shared about the Promotion of TUBITAK ARDEB Support Programs, Original Value, Research Design and Method, Widespread Impact, Project Management and Project Budget, Application and Panel Process during 10 course hours in the training. In the five-hour applied part of the training, first of all, our trainer lecturers shared the examples of projects supported and not supported by TUBITAK ARDEB they experienced. A total of 9 rejected or in the application phase project proposals and 9 research ideas were discussed in the sessions.” Stating that each project proposal was evaluated for about 25 minutes by trainers, Prof. Özen said that Prof. Sedef Akgüngör from Dokuz Eylül University, Prof. Ayşe Gündüz Hoşgör from Middle East Technical University, Prof. Hakan Yetkiner from Izmir University of Economics, and Assoc. Prof. Semahat Özdemir from Izmir Institute of Technology also attended the training program.
