However, although it is so widespread, we know that the public is not aware of what dyslexia is, what are the symptoms, and how the diagnosis and treatment process is progressing. My team mate Deniz Öztürk and I are aware of dyslexia. In order to raise this awareness as a social initiative offering innovative training support for dyslexia with we came together with those who are interested in dyslexia with our activity.
DYASPP Co-Founder Deniz Öztürk, in his presentation titled “A Different Approach to Dyslexia”, Dyslexic individuals have normal or above normal intelligence levels. However, due to the problems they face in the academic field, they cannot realize their potential and fall behind their peers. With this seminar, we have reshaped our perspective on dyslexic individuals. IUE Physiotherapy Program Doctor Lecturer Şermin Tükel made a presentation on “Academic Approach to Dyslexia”. Tukel added that Dyslexia Awareness is very important. We are looking curiously anticipating the results of our school graduates Deniz and Esra's DysApp project for children with dyslexia.
