Architects’ BİRİKİM is on display
Department of Architecture presented the annual BİRİKİM (ACCUMULATION) exhibition, which started in 2015 and continued every year, to students, academicians, architects and anyone interested in architectural education.
In this year's exhibition, a selection of projects for the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior year students’ works in studio and building construction courses were exhibited, focusing on the perception of space and technical production. From the crowded in town regions such as Konak and Balçova, to recreation and culture areas such as Urla, Inciraltı and Barbaros Village, there are theoretical and technical projects in simple and complex programs and scales such as detached houses, libraries, culture and art centers, diver's school, and skyscrapers. Furthermore, some experimental designs from parametric design workshops, such as a shell structure for İzmir Metro, submarine water colony (Mission Aquarius) and parametric tower, held in the same year, were shared with visitors.
BİRİKİM exhibition aims to display the educational philosophy of the Department of Architecture and the products of this understanding through a 1-year accumulation of projects with architecture schools, and academicians based in Izmir and Turkey. The exhibition is open for visit in Multi-Purpose Hall until April 3, 2019.
