IUE CURATOR AT PORTO PHOTO FEST
Lecturer Emre Küheylan from Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Radio and Television Programming is going to be curating the photography screening titled, “Overcrowding", at the Porto Photo Fest that will take place on 13-21 October 2018 in Porto, Portugal.
On the opening day of the festival, which is sponsored by Porto Municipality, screenings will take place at the historical Casa do Infante building. Issues such as the impact of rapid population growth on cities, the burdens the local population has to bear against the environmental and socio-economic changes in order to survive will be addressed via documentary photography projects of famous photographers such as Benny Lam (Hong Kong), Greg Girard (Canada), Johnny Miller (South Africa), Miguel Candela (Spain), Noah Addis (USA), Peter Steinhauer (USA), Tommaso Protti (Italy), and Xavier Schwebel (France). After screenings a session will be held where population issue will be discussed.
Emre Küheylan will be also delivering a "Photography Curation" titled masterclass as part of the festival, and evaluate the works of participating photographers at the portfolio review section.
Emmy award-winner Eduardo Angel, Chuck O'Rears (National Geographic), David Nightingale, and Sara Lando will also attend the festival that will host many exhibitions, masterclasses, workshops, and talks
