THE TRAINING FOR THE FIRST INDUSTRY 4.0 LABORATORY IN TURKEY IS COMPLETED
A training course was held regarding the use of the first Industry 4.0 Laboratory in Turkey, which was established within TESLA Laboratory of Faculty of Engineering, Izmir University of Economics. The participants received their certificates at the ceremony with the attendance of faculty members.
Assoc. Prof. Görkem Üçtuğ, Vice Dean of Faculty of Engineering, emphasized the inter-disciplinary nature of the Industry 4.0 Laboratory, a cyber-physical system that enables information exchange and control between smart machines, storage systems, and operating equipment. Assoc. Prof. Üçtuğ said that many students and academicians from Computer, Software Electrical and Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering departments and various other disciplines would be able to benefit from the laboratory. Assoc. Prof. Üçtuğ also expressed their gratitude Didactic Festo, the company that provided the equipment and held the training course. In his speech, Alpay Özkan, General Manager of Didactic Festo, stated that they were very pleased that the first Industry 4.0 Laboratory in Turkey was established at Izmir University of Economics, and he said that the system was a very significant step in terms of university-industry collaboration.
