Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has been pre-selected for training camp with the highest number of projects among 37 projects at the “Bu Gençlikte İş Var” titled competition organized by Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD)”. IUE students, who have raised the “Entrepreneurship Flag” up to the flagpole for the third time for the most number of enterprising projects, will attend the training camp with 5 projects this time.
IUE entrepreneurs will compete for the finals with the following projects: “Yuvasız Kuşlar”, “Environmental Noise Cancellation Using Vibration Sensor”, “Görerek Duyun”, “Ağaçlar Ormana Ormanlar Ranta”, and “Arı Alerji Teşhis Kiti Geliştirilmesi”.
Ekrem Demirtaş, IUE President of the Board of Trustees, indicated that they had been training entrepreneurial, innovative youth with vision for future since the very first day of the establishment of the University, and all the accomplishments at these competitions were a direct result of that insight. IUE students have qualified to have the “Entrepreneurship Flag” up to the flagpole on Balçova campus in 2013, 2015, and 2017 previously, reminded President Demirtaş. “Entrepreneurship is a result of determination, persistence, and not giving up easily. Students are being taught the essentials of entrepreneurship, they develop projects. We have come a long way in our 17th year with our entrepreneurial students. We do not ever want them to give up their dreams. We are preparing them for the future because they are going to manage the future. Awards we receive certify that we are the University of the Future. We tell our students that they can work somewhere for 3 to 5 years but later on, they need to start up their own businesses, and become entrepreneurs. They proved their entrepreneurial nature in this competition once again,” said President Demirtaş.
