Protocol of collaboration was signed between Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and the Superior Group of Colleges (SGC), a chain of colleges and Universities with more than one hundred campuses across Pakistan. Cahit Yaşar Eren, Member of IUE Board of Trustees and Honorary Consul of Pakistan in Izmir, Prof. Dr. Can Şimga Muğan, IUE Rector, and Prof. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, Chairman of the Superior Group, signed the protocol.
A team of 110 school managers from the Superior Group and IUE academicians attended the ceremony that took place at IUE Conference Hall. In her speech, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Can Şimga Muğan stated that the University, since its establishment in 2001, acted upon the approach of offering international education. The Rector said, “We offer education to students from 65 countries. They receive education at smart classrooms in English. We train them as entrepreneurs. Currently we have 10 thousand 199 students and 760 academicians. We are educating the future managers with a universal education system in our 8 faculties and 35 departments. The University has been included in the international fellowship program of Higher Education Council of Pakistan (HEC Pakistan) since 2015. Successful Pakistani students receive education in masters and Ph.D. programs at IUE in accordance with the joint program with HEC Pakistan”.
‘Very impressed by Izmir Economics’
The Chairman of the Superior Group, Prof. Chaudry Abdul Rehman stated that they had over 100 campuses across Pakistan and that they offered education in English. Rehman reported that they were very impressed with the fact that medium of instruction being English and the compulsory second foreign language at Izmir University of Economics. “We are educating the youth at the Superior University in addition to our colleges. We hope to exchange students as part of this protocol,” said Rehman.
