COLOURS OF NATURE REFLECTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY
The aesthetics of nature come to life in pictures. Melahat Kızıl, Lecturer at IUE Vocational School of Health, reflects the richness of natüre combined with light to macro pictures in her exhibition titled, “Basıp Geçtiklerimiz”. The exhibition of 25 pictures will be available at IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Multi-Purpose Hall through September 29.
Kızıl, who had 3 solo exhibitions and 14 combined exhibitions so far, has graduated from Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Cinema-TV-Photography. Kızıl completed her graduate studies at DEU Graduate School of Fine Arts in “Photography” while she completed her studies at Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences at Hacettepe University. She said that she had been working on macro photography with natural light for approximately 8 years and she tried to reflect the aesthetics of nature on photography. Kızıl stated that colour, light, and aesthetics motivated her. “Speed of light is measured in seconds. A delay of couple of seconds takes us to different results. No matter how much photography is known as an art of coincidences, this in fact is a pure luck. Just like any other art, photography requires knowledge, awareness, and precision.” Kızıl said that plants and flowers reflected the most beautiful details of nature. “Flowers are the most delicate models of nature but they behave less whimsical. Most of them are short lived; you need to be patient to observe them. If you miss the right time, you will have to wait another year for them to bloom. The flower might wither while you wait on the perfect lighting”.
