SLEEP MONITORING DEVICE FOR CHILDREN

Children will get enough sleep. Nektar Ege Altıntoprak, student at Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), designed a “sleep device”, consisting of a smart alarm and an ankle band for children aged 8 – 12 in order to prevent bed-wetting.

IUE Graduates of Faculties of Business, Communication, Law, Arts and Science, who successfully completed their studies in 2016 – 2017 Academic Year, received their diplomas. The students, singing the IUE and the 10th Year Anthems, threw their caps into the air proudly at the third of the graduation ceremonies that took place at IUE Amphitheatre.

Extended waiting at airports is no longer a hassle. Ece Mercan, student from Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), designed a sleeping capsule for airports. Particularly, passengers, who have long stopover times or experience extended waiting, will be able to use “Napport”, the sleeping capsule, for sleeping and relaxation, working, or changing clothes.

2017 graduates of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) entered the business world. One thousand 667 students, who’ve completed the 2016 – 2017 Academic Year successfully, were awarded their diplomas at the ceremony that took place at IUE Amphitheatre. At the end of the ceremony, the graduates proudly threw their caps into the air.

Traditional irrigation methods became more technological thanks to entrepreneurial students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE). IUE students developed a self-sufficient, remote control irrigation system called “Green Insight” which works with renewable energy that can be controlled on a mobile application.

Prof. Dr. Devrim Ünay, Head of IUE Department of Biomedical Engineering, measured the reactions of neurons, the smallest cells in the brain, during a learning process in order to find a new approach to learning disabilities, and passed public tunes on to polyphonic music on the other hand.

Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
