The future engineers competed in robot building. Faculty of Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) held “Energy-Efficient, Environment-Friendly Robot" competition for high school students. Twenty-two teams of high school students from Izmir, Istanbul, and Afyonkarasihar competed to build robots capable of cleaning up mines, giving commands via brain waves, mowing grass, etc.
Asst. Prof. Fabrizio Pinto, Faculty Member from Department of Aerospace Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), has been selected for Honorable Mention, a prestigious award given by the “Gravity Research Foundation” located in USA for the best and most well written essays about gravitation, its theory, applications or effects. This is the eighth time Asst. Prof. Pinto receives an award from this foundation for his scientific articles.
250 students from departments of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Architecture, Visual Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Fashion and Textile Design of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) presented their designs prepared as part of 102 Art and Design Studio II course taught by 22 lecturers from the Faculty. Students of Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) will complete their education journey with “New Romanticism” titled fashion show. IUE students will present their collections of ready-to-wear clothing they designed at the graduation fashion show on June 4 at 21.00 at IUE Campus Park.

The development of “Street and Facade Improvement Projects”, at 3 different location as part of the collaboration protocol between Urla Municipality and Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has been completed. 40 IUE graduate students and students from Department of Architecture presented their work to Urla Mayor Sibel Uyar in 8 groups.

Students of Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) will represent Izmir with two different projects at “FABFEST” design festival hosted by University of Westminster in London. IUE architects, who came in first place in the category of “Hawthorn impressive design”, received Hawthorn money award, and a third prize in the best architectural design category selected by the jury members last year, will be displaying their projects on this year’s theme, “Digital City”, in London. The young architects stated that they wanted to come back to Izmir with awards.
Faculty of Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) held an “Egg Drop Contest” for high school students to reinforce their interaction with science. Competitors created a device that would keep raw eggs intact when dropped from a specific height.
